Music

Music:

            Noun

  • S: (n) music (an artistic form of auditory communication incorporating instrumental or vocal tones in a structured and continuous manner)
  • S: (n) musiceuphony (any agreeable (pleasing and harmonious) sounds) “he fell asleep to the music of the wind chimes”
  • S: (n) music (musical activity (singing or whistling etc.)) “his music was his central interest”
  • S: (n) music ((music) the sounds produced by singers or musical instruments (or reproductions of such sounds))
  • S: (n) musicmedicine (punishment for one’s actions) “you have to face the music”; “take your medicine”

Music soothes the soul; which is why it is not only WORLD WIDE… but culturally diverse. Music has the ability to control ones emotions based on tones, different melodic expression, accompaniment, and lyrics.

Music is sound… and overall, sound is beauty. This is why when people lose their hearing, or start to, then they are saddened.

The mind is a powerful source and because it obtains so much power it is critical that we feed it only what we want it to remember… thus, happy music with happy lyrics will make you happy. Sad music will make you sad, and pop music can make you feel like a “pimp” or “sexy.”

I don’t know what it is exactly that makes this happen… but when some songs come on, it makes your body just want to move, your head start bobbing, or your foot starts tapping… or maybe even more your hips start swinging.

Music is what you make it. Music is art, and expression. Music is valuable and important to your mind, setting the mood. People listen to music when they exercise. Why do you think ipods are so popular?

Music is not only a hip trend, it is also known to be used in religious ceremonies, which is good for the mind and the heart of those who have dedicated their lives to this kind of thing.

Sometimes, music gives understanding where we would not have achieved it before… it reminds us of how stupid we can be acting. Music can heal the broken hearted, or crush the soul of the ones who are alone. Music can create fairy tales, or create reality… all depending on the mindset. Music is power and can make you weak, strong, sad, and happy. Through music you can experience feelings that you never knew existed. It helps pass time and you can actually see how time changes. Music is amazing, and I have never understood people who haven’t been interested. Although, those who are not are most definately the minority. I’ve met only a small few of people in my life time who did not enjoy some form of music.

Music is used in movies, dancing, exercise, yoga, celebrations, religious activities, sports, and so much more! You hear it in the grocery store, at the mall, at the restaurants, and in commercials. Music is everywhere.

Thus, we have discovered that music is a good outlet of putting your feelings out there, which is good for your mind. It’s a way of healthy venting… and most of the time people won’t call you crazy for it. Music sets almost every kind of mood, be it dramatic, or hopelessly romanticized. Music helps people exercise without realizing how hard they are working which makes it easier and is good for your body… and this is good for your health.

  1. Thanks for the information on music and health.

We recently wrote an article on how music is good for your health at Brain Blogger. A study in “Critical Care Medicine” evaluated stress levels after patient had listened to some piano sonatas. The results were amazing, but one composer in particular showed the most results when their music was played; Mozart.

We would like to read your comments on our article. Thank you.

    Sincerely,
    Kelly
